The title refers to a song on John's album 21 at 33, "Two Rooms at the End of the World", and to the duo's unusual collaborative style; it is also the title of a 1991 film documenting their collaboration.

Some of them were chosen for this collection. Tina Turner, for example, tackles the ludicrously juvenile "The Bitch Is Back" and somehow manages to make it even worse. Daryl Hall and John Oates don't fare any better with the embarrassingly outdated disco anthem "Philadelphia Freedom

This album was conceived as a tribute album to the various hits that Elton John and Bernie Taupin wrote during their lengthy careers together and features everyone from The Who to Bon Jovi covering some classic Elton tracks. It reached on the Billboard Top 200 chart and Rod Stewart’s cover of Your Song was a great hit for the album, reaching on the Adult Contemporary chart. Kate Bush's version of Rocket Man peaked at in the UK and in Australia.

Elton and Bernie's creations, given a 30+ year legacy, more then qualifies. One ponders the music Lennon and McCartney would have created, if they had collaborated post Beatles. No one has to wonder about that with Elton and Bernie, its all out there. Their music creations continue to charm and reward the public as both these artists grow broader in life experiences. I am really enjoying this album. There are a couple of artists on here that, frankly, I would not have chosen to represent an Elton John song, but overall it is an enjoyable mix of covers by talented artists. I particularly bought this after hearing Sting's version of "Come Down in Time" on a local radio station. I love it! If you like the John/Taupin collaborations, this album is worth having in your collection. 4 people found this helpful.
