In spite of Noel’s objections to an album having five singles, if one were to include both the white label release of Columbia and the US single for Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, Oasis plucked six songs out of 11 from their debut album, four of which were released before the album, and three rather successfully. Slide Away, the last rocker on the album, and a love song on par with Wonderwall but with more grr and less ahh, was originally slated for release until Noel objected
ROCK 'N' ROLL STAR Oasis. About the artist behind Rock N Roll Star: Oasis are an English rock band that formed in Manchester in 1991. While recording their fourth album Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000) in 1999, Oasis lost two founding members and suffered a notable decline in popularity in America. The band added replacements Gem Archer and Andy Bell for Heathen Chemistry (2002).
