Camel is the first studio album by English progressive rock band Camel, released on MCA Records in February 1973. By August 1972, Camel were signed to MCA Records. They quickly entered the studio to record their first self-titled album, Camel. A collection of individual songs, chiefly from Andrew Latimer and Peter Bardens, the album was greeted with muted success and MCA did not take an option for a second album.

Camel released the album Nude in 1981. The song City Life, appeared as the album’s opening track. As with so many of Camel’s albums, Nude was a concept record bathed in the genre of progressive rock and originality. The great track was released on the I Can See Your House from Here album. Camel disbanded shortly after the concept album Nude was released in 1981 due to alcohol and drug abuse by Ward. However Latimer continued on as the sole remaining original member of the band releasing the albums The Single Factor (1982) and Stationary Traveller in 1984 under the Camel name. Camel has continued on since, although slowly. The band still tours today, led by Latimer despite being diagnosed with Myelofibrosis.
