Jacques Blanchard (1600–1638), also known as Jacques Blanchart, was a French baroque painter who was born in Paris. He was raised and taught by his uncle, the painter Nicolas Bollery (ca. 1560–1630). Jacques’s brother and son, Jean-Baptiste Blanchard (after 1602–1665) and Gabriel Blanchard (1630–1704), respectively were also painters. Despite his polished and prolific output as a religious and decorative painter, very little is known of Blanchard’s early development

HSBC has appointed Jacques-Emmanuel Blanchet Chief Executive of HSBC Bank Egypt, subject to regulatory approval. Blanchet succeeds Andrew Long who will move to another senior role within HSBC. Long's new role will be announced shortly. Blanchet is currently Co-Head of Commercial Banking Europe and Head of Commercial Banking UK, where he has led the growth of the business over the past three years. Prior to this, he was Head of Commercial Banking for HSBC in France. Jacques-Emmanuel added: "HSBC has a long history in Egypt, great people and a strong client base. I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the bank at this important stage in its journey and look forward to working with our clients to help them achieve their growth ambitions.
