In 1995 they released their first studio album, Mundo Guanaco, which included songs of both Hermética and of V8 (another of Ricardo Iorio's previous bands), and some new ones written by Iorio (most of them dealing with social issues). After the release of their second album, Del Entorno, Cardacci was replaced by Rodolfo Márquez. One year later, Márquez was replaced by Walter Martínez, after a demonstration with his band Vorax. Almafuerte – mundo guanaco. Ricardo Iorio, ex V8 and Hermetica, and actually Almafuerte’s front man and singer, once stated We are not Thrash Metal, Black Metal, Power Metal, Doom Metal or Death Metal. We are Poronga Metal (Dickhead Metal). If we qualify album by album, the first ones are more like Motorhead: rawest and fastest and the last ones are more like Black Sabbath: mid tempo with killing riffs, slower passages, splendid solos and sludgy guitar arrangements. Iorio had always had vocalists on his previous bands, in Almafuerte he decided to take vocals himself, showing a growling and barking voice that sounds much alike Lemmy. In this first album Mundo Guanaco, Ricardo Iorio sings and also plays bass, Claudio Marciello (in my opinion the best metal guitarist in Argentina) performs on guitars and Claudio Cardacci on drums.
