The song 'Rain Forest' by John Fahey has a tempo of 111 beats per minute (BPM) on 'Rain Forest, Oceans, and Other Themes'. Rain Forest John Fahey.
This was the first John Fahey recording I ever heard and it impressed me enough to try to track down everything else he had recorded. As an acoustic guitarist he never fitted into any category other than his own and his willingness to experiment and meld styles was always impressive. For me the standout tracks on this disk would have to be Eric Clapton's Layla, Stravinsky's Lullaby And Finale From The Firebird and Moondog's Theme And Variations.
Melody McOcean" (Fahey) – 6:42. Rain Forest" (Fahey) – 6:47. Note that both "Layla" and "The World Is Waiting for the Sunrise" were originally issued on the previous year's Let Go album, and did not appear on the vinyl release. They were added to the CD version several years later to give additional value.

Let Go is an album by American fingerstyle guitarist and composer John Fahey, released in 1984. It was his first release on the Varrick label after over 25 years on his own label Takoma, as well as a few releases on other labels. Since his move to Salem, Oregon in 1981, Fahey met guitarist and producer Terry Robb, who accompanies him on all but three of the songs on Let Go. He would work with Robb on three subsequent releases.
