Subsequently, the album "Art in America" was released by CBS/Epic in 1983, produced by Eddy Offord (YES, ELP) Album includes T Lavitz (DIXIE DREGS) on keyboards with pre-production help from Steve Morse (DIXIE DREGS). AIA has a unique sound and features a full Lyon & Healy pedal string harp played by Shishonee Flynn. AIA garnered considerable airplay and MTV video play when the album was released. AIA toured in support of the album, headlining and opening for bands such as: U2, Steve Hackett, Split Enz, Roxy Music, Bill Bruford, Captain Beefheart, King Crimson and Gary Numan

It's a very good art-pop record with modest progressive leanings (sharing a producer, Eddie Offord, with such progressive stalwarts as Yes and Emerson Lake & Palmer, and with musical contributions from members of the more progressive Dixie Dregs), and album artwork clearly inspired by Roger Dean. It got some airplay when it was released, in the early '80s, but didn't spawn a full-fledged hit and, for whatever reason, there was not a follow-up . They were also not particularly concerned with sound quality. So when they reissued the Art in America album (again) on CD, they didn't bother to obtain rights from Sony.
The Art in America album was produced by former Emerson, Lake & Palmer and YES kingpin Eddy Offord, and progressive music lovers who haven't heard this material, should waste no time in slapping it into their CD player. This is dreamy, yet gripping, music that commands attention for both it's philosophically probing lyrics and entrancing instrumental arrangements.
