Love Is Here to Stay is a collaborative studio album by Tony Bennett and Diana Krall, released on September 14, 2018, via Verve Records/Columbia Records. The album features the New York-based jazz group the Bill Charlap Trio. The album was released both as a CD containing tracks 13 & 14 exclusive to this version and an exclusive red-colored vinyl LP. All songs in the album are from the Great American Songbook and were composed by George Gershwin, with lyrics by Ira Gershwin.

The two toured together in 2000 and recorded duets for two of Bennett’s albums (‘Duets’ and ‘Playin’ With My Friends’), but this marks their first full album project together

Bennett and Krall recorded Love Is Here to Stay with New York jazz group the Bill Charlap Trio. Bandleader-pianist Charlap released his own Gershwin tribute LP, Plays George Gershwin: The American Soul, in 2005. Love Is Here to Stay follows Bennett’s 2015 LP featuring Charlap, The Silver Lining: The Songs of Jerome Kern, and the following year’s Tony Bennett Celebrates 90, a studio album and TV special featuring artists like Krall, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Elton John and Lady Gaga. Krall released her 13th studio album, Turn Up the Quiet, in 2017.

The album starts with ’S Wonderful. Bennett laughs lightly of a welcome in the back of Krall’s solo part. Krall is humming perceptively to Bennett’s improvisation. The Bill Charlie trio, with Peter Washington and Kenny Washington, kindly wraps them. Krall told Philip Lutz, she owed the success of this album immeasurably to the magic of Bill Charlap. Two vocalists’ voices are set at very close range to each other. Bill Charlap trio, same members with this time, released a debut album for Japanese Venus Record, ’S Wonderful in 2000. He played the title tune with quicker tempos. He introduced Gershwin’s rather unfamiliar tune, Boy, What Love Has Done To Me, to Japanese fans there.
