Giving Birth to a Stone is the debut and only studio album by UK metal band Peach, released in 1994 through Mad Minute Records. It was re-released in 2000 through Beatville Records, with different artwork, designed by Adam Jones of Tool. The song "You Lied" was covered live by Tool and was included on their box set Salival.

Giving Birth to a Stone. Although little fanfare accompanied the original release of Giving Birth to a Stone in the early '90s, the 2000 re-release of Peach's only album was met with considerably greater interest. This heightened curiosity was almost completely due to the fact that Peach was Justin Chancellor, the bassist who joined Tool in late 1995, following Peach's disintegration. Shortly after Chancellor came aboard, Tool released their hugely successful breakthrough album, Aenima, and soon became one of the most popular heavy rock bands of the latter half of the '90s.

Original 2nd issue of this album: Originally Reissued September 26, 2000 with new artwork on Vile Beat Records with the wrong UPC, which was fixed with a sticker under the cello but over the jewel case before being pressed again with the fixed UPC. The fixed UPC reads 6 52 2. Songs 2, 6 and 8 were produced @ Green House Studios.
