The Mountain Announces-Scatter. Stick for me. thepickups. On first listening it sounded very folky with a lot of mixed progression between instruments and voice. It seems to really drag the 4. minutes of listening out of you but leaves you with a feeling of experience. The tracks seem to teach you something new in an eerie and unnerving manor and really set a mood for the day with it. If my life was written in music, the first track would describe waking up. It?s a struggle of a start and really makes me work to listen to it.

The Mountain Announces is the second album by the Scatter collective. The album was released in 2006 on the Blank Tapes label. Scatter are an improvisational collective, based in Glasgow. Their music is heavily influenced by jazz and folk (releases have included versions of folk standards). The membership of the group is fluid, and Scatter has contained up to nine musicians at points, featuring cornet, flute, megaphone, drums, bouzouki, guitar, trombone, saxophone, upright bass, and harmonium, among the instrument used.
