I discovered Balor, much like I discovered Dysperium, through Typhus, a blasphemic black metal band from the United States of America. Typhus has a really primitive sound, but it was what I’d consider quite catchy. The introduction to this full-length debut, entitled ‘The Fraternity of the Goat’, is a very spiritual one. It’s a dedication to Satan and anti-Christian themes. The song, which makes me giggle, is a very weak opening track. Theis album scrapes the barrel for material, is incredibly uninteresting and looks toward drawing in a misguided bunch of individuals to look upon it as an influential piece of Satanic music.
