Endless, Nameless is the third album proper by The Wildhearts (Fishing for Luckies originally being a fan club-only release), and was their first album to be released on Mushroom Records following a split with original record label EastWest. With the increasing popularity of bands such as The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy, the band was encouraged by their new label to move towards a heavier sound.

After one of the greatest and most underrated albums of the 90’s Earth Vs The Wildhearts and the excellent follow up . comes Endless, Nameless, the polarising album named (and styled) after the near-unlistenable bonus track at the end of Nevermind by Nirvana. The Wildhearts have always combined hard hitting rock riffs with melodic pop hooks, creating anthems such as Welcome To Sh tsville, Caffeine Bomb or Everlone

Endless, Nameless finds the Wildhearts opting for an indie label after their time with Warner failed to yield any hits. Stylstically, the album doesn't sound that different from their earlier releases, but it is a surprsingly consistent and appealing set of thunderous hard-rock. The album may take its name from Nirvana's unlisted noise symphony at the end of Nevermind, but the record owes more to straight-ahead glam-rock and metal and its the better for it.

All in all, ‘Endless, Nameless’ formed a challenging and essential addition to the band's catalogue of releases. The album demands repetitive listens for it to slowly unfold its genius upon you. Definitely one to get your hands on.
