To be fair, Sounds Like Gene Vincent reveals a little evolution; a couple of the soft ballads make use of a fairly lush vocal chorus, and the influence of Buddy Holly can be heard in places. But these developments are fleeting, and Crazy Times is a return to no-nonsense rock & roll. Wonderful music, although, from a commercial standpoint, Vincent was doomed.
