It is not Christmas without seeing Meet Me in St. This is one of Judy Garland's best movies. It is a great love story. But, you know, even in those days, MEET ME IN ST LOUIS was special. Did you know it was based on a some stories by a woman named Sally Benson who was called "Tootie" when she was growing up? She based her stories on her own life living in St. Louis almost a hundred years ago. That's right. That's even before I was born. This is a very gentle story of family life. Louis, Louis", better known as just "Meet Me in St. Louis", is a popular song from 1904 which celebrated the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, also known as the St. Louis World's Fair. The words were by Andrew B. Sterling; the music, by Kerry Mills. It was recorded that year by many artists, including William F. Denny, Billy Murray and Arthur Collins.
