I received my box in January after going through Pledge so I assumed Tzadik didn't get caught up in that mess. It wasn't until a few days ago when Zorn posted his update that Pledge didn't give them a dime and they were in the hole.

An absolutely outstanding artistic achievement. "The Book Beri'ah" is music of the very highest order. Every disc radiates with a superhuman-level of skill, precision, passion and commitment. The best CD boxset released in years.

Musically spectacular, as one would expect. Also a gorgeous package, as one would expect from Tzadik/Zorn/Chippy. One word of caution however. The top and bottom sections of the box are velvet and very difficult to separate without damaging. I slipped a table knife in between them to ease them apart.

Absolutely colossal exhibition of some of the most fantastic material Zorn has ever put on the table - with more than 200 albums and thousands of production and performance credits so far, this has to mean something. Shot through an imagined, pastiched prism of occult history, "The Book Beri'ah" is bound to allure you way beyond the fringes of what postmodern listeners are adjusted to, closing the 25 year Masada cycle with Zorn's final 92 compositions. It features everything from Avant-Prog and Klezmer, to Chamber Jazz, Exotica, Fusion, experimental Metal and Arabic influences, presented by eleven different projects. Those insane credits might give a hint as to what Zorn afficionados can expect: utter bliss.
