Swearing At Motorists - the World's Local Band since 1995. Swearing At Motorists is a two-piece rock and roll band composed of Dave Doughman (guitar, vocals, et. and drummer Martin Boeters (previously Joseph Siwinski). They formed in Dayton, Ohio in 1994, releasing their self-titled debut cassette in 1995. Joseph Siwinski replaced Don Thrasher (formerly of Guided by Voices), who had originally been on drums. Critics have referred to Swearing At Motorists as The Two Man Who, a nickname bestowed upon the band by Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys.

Debuting in 1995 with a self-released, self-titled cassette, Swearing at Motorists returned the following year with an EP, Tuesday's Pretzel Night. The full-length Fear of Low Flying Clouds appeared in 1997, with More Songs from the Mellow Struggle (the band's debut effort for the Secretly Canadian label) and Number Seven Uptown both following two years later. By 2000, founding member Don Thrasher left the band. The Trouble with Sweeney's Joseph Siwinski was brought in to play drums. The Along the Incline Plane EP and the This Flag Signals Goodbye album both followed in 2002
