Fimm Í Tangó, the Five In Tango ensemble was initially formed in 2007 by Kristín Lárusdóttir. While studying in Finland, Kristín had been exposed to traditional Finnish tango. This inspired her to introduce the tradition to the Icelandic music scene, and thus Fimm Í Tangó was born. To begin with, the ensemble performed only Finnish tango music, but soon sought collaborations with composers in creating and performing original Icelandic tangos. In recent years the ensemble has given numerous concerts around Iceland in which they have premiered many new Icelandic tango compositions.

Notes

16 pages booklet with lyrics.
Year of release not stated on cd (obtained from interview to Kristín Larusdóttir with The Reykjavik Grapevine).

Must be noted that, even though the songs are tangos, these are not the Argentinian type of tango but the Finnish tango, which is different. So the "Latin" genre doesn't really apply in this case.
