The Only Place is the second studio album by American indie rock duo Best Coast, released on May 15, 2012 by Mexican Summer. The album was primarily inspired by the upheaval following the unexpected success of Crazy for You. To this end, the duo attempted to distance themselves from the lo-fi aesthetic of their first release by working with producer Jon Brion

Best Coast's new album, The Only Place, is another story. Produced by Jon Brion, the sound is dry and comparatively spare; the guitars jangle and twang rather than fuzz; and Cosentino's voice, still strong and clear, is front and center. After their garage-rock beginnings, Best Coast are making a bid for alt-country singer-songwriter territory à la Neko Case, a musical sphere where the nuts and bolts of songwriting and storytelling are paramount

Best Coast - The Only Place From the album The Only Place (mexican summer 2012). Tabbed by Isaac Murguia, July 2012.

Complete your Best Coast collection. The Wichita LP release bonus 7" is a white label featuring 'The Only Place' and a cover of Fleetwood Mac's 'Storms' - it has a catalogue number WEBB347S scratched into the run-out and comes in a plain white sleeve. The US (Mexican Summer)LP bonus 7" has the same two tracks but has 'proper' labels.

Best Coast knows of this as they pore over thorough thoughts circulating around, crafting three more tracks meant for the Golden State. Do You Love Me Like You Used To and Let’s Go Home are reminiscent to road mixes set on Route 66 during summer. Journeys end once they begin. Doing the album of service, Best Coast close it out the only way they know, with a soothing waltz. Up All Night paints a picture of peace and tranquility where adulation runs rampant.

Lyrics "Best Coast - The Only Place". We were born with sun in our teeth and in our hair When we get bored we like to sit around sit around and stare At the mountains at the birds at the ocean at the trees We have fun we have fun we have fun when we please We wake up with the sun in our eyes It's no surprise that. we get so much done But we always yes we always we always have fun Yes we always yes we always we always have fun Why would you live anywhere else? Why would you live anywhere else? We've got the ocean got the babes Got the sun we've got the waves This is the.

I really wish the 7" had Angsty and Mean Girls! Both songs are honestly two of Best Coast's most memorable tracks!

I'm wondering because of this vinyl release. Is there probably a release with this number and everything the same but without the 7"?I bought this record sealed but a 7" wasn't inside. :(

It also comes in a plain white sleeve but this has a sticker on the front with a bar code (strange for a freebie?) and a catalogue number MEX120.
