Very is the fifth studio album by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. It was released on 27 September 1993 by Parlophone, nearly three years after the duo's previous studio album, Behaviour, and following the compilation album Discography: The Complete Singles Collection. Very exhibits one of many turning points the Pet Shop Boys would make to their music, shifting from the subdued electronic pop of Behaviour to richly instrumented dance arrangements.
When the Queen II album came out in '74, those who heard it were impressed & spiritually uplifted. A month after releasing their debut album Queen returned to Trident Studios to commence work on the follow-up, tentatively titled ‘Over The Top’ – an idea that didn’t amuse EMI any more than ‘Dearie Me’ had for its predecessor. Mick Rock’s photograph, which the boys thought was slightly pretentious at first, showed them to be a band or a gang and this time the potential purchaser was left intrigued by the potential content. Considered by most as the last proper Queen album, ‘Innuendo’ was recorded during the time when Mercury was in the final stages of his battle with the AIDS virus. Although Mercury’s illness was unknown at the time, he was clearly grappling with his own mortality. Listening after the fact, ‘These Are The Days Of Our Lives’ and ‘The Show Must Go On’ are clear cut examples of how Mercury put everything he still had into the recording of the album. Innuendo’ is a brilliant final statement from Mercury and the members of Queen. 9. 'Queen II'. (1974)
Prior to recording the album that would become The Game, Queen - May, singer Freddie Mercury, drummer Roger Taylor, and bassist John Deacon - grew into a major rock act since its formation in 1970. I think Mack secretly had wanted to work with us for a long time, May told In the Studio With Redbeard. He had all these things that he wanted to try with us. Killer Queen Killer Queen, from Queen’s 1974 album Sheer Heart Attack, feels sort of like a transitional song for the quartet. It has that classic Queen sound we are so familiar with, but its dense, cryptic lyrics are reminiscent of its prog rock roots. This is a song with the words gunpowder, gelatine, dynamite with a laser beam in the chorus. Mercury’s sonorous, high-pitched voice sells it all, though
