Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas is a 1960 album by the American jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, recorded in the summer of 1960, with a studio orchestra arranged and conducted by Frank DeVol. It is Fitzgerald's only Verve complete album of Christmas tunes. Verve had issued a 7" 45rpm single in 1959, featuring "The Christmas Song" with "The Secret of Christmas" on the b-side, both were recorded with Russ Garcia and His Orchestra in September 1959.

Ella Fitzgerald - Frosty the Snowman (02:15, 192Kb/s). Ella Fitzgerald - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (02:59, 320Kb/s). Ella Fitzgerald - Frosty the Snowman (Alternative Take) (02:12, 192Kb/s). Ella Fitzgerald - The Secret of Christmas (02:48, 192Kb/s). Ella Fitzgerald - We Three Kings Of Orient Are, o Little Town of Bethlehem (03:38, 192Kb/s). Ella Fitzgerald - Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town (02:20, 192Kb/s). Listen online and stay in a good mood. Org Album: Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas (2002).

The First Lady of Song recorded these tunes in 1960, at the peak of her interpretive powers. If you are looking for a high-energy, upbeat Christmas album that will get a Christmas party moving, "Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas" has what you need. I've been a fan of Ella Fitzgerald all my life, even though she was out of her prime when I was born. She has one of those magical voices that cuts across generations or age gaps. She is truly timeless.

This the best Christmas swing album ever. Lively versions of Christmas favorites but done tastefully with great arrangements. Ella vocally is at her best too. Album should be in everyone's Christmas collection.
