Ted: Well, I’ve heard of dragons, and I’ve heard of fruit, but no, I’ve never heard of that. If you us. eard about that, then although you may have heard of the topic, you are stating that you know very little, or nothing, about it. Here’s another example: Fred: My cousin gave me a rabbit for my birthday. It won't eat carrots. Ted: It won't? I’ve never heard of that. I thought all rabbits loved carrots. What do they eat, then? Fred: I don't know. I've never heard about that. I’m going to the pet shop to ask today.
36: Marty Stuart: The Pilgrim (June 1999) The concept album has more often than not been a prog rock concern, but with The Pilgrim, Marty Stuart stopped casting around for a hit and instead pieced together an ambitious narrative based on the true story of a love triangle. SOme I haven’t heard but intend to investigate. One you missed was TOUCH – a 1969 release by the band of the same name. I will think of many more.
Easy if you've played her Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea: an album about singer Jeff Mangum's obsession with Anne Frank's ghost. This album - on the surface a skittery, lo-fi assortment of acoustic guitars, soaring brass instruments and cracked vocals - has a hypnotic power and rhythm that makes jaded adults and bouncy toddlers alike sing along. It's been the soundtrack to so many break-ups and heartaches for me, it's hard to listen to. But without doubt, this is the English folk voice I'd waited for all my life, our heartbreaking answer to Joni. Now I play it in south London when my friends are over, and they always ask the same questions as Olympia's soccer moms did back in Washington.
No, I've never eaten kimchi. I've never been to Seoul. And I've never ever ever had a California roll. Have you ever been arrested? Have you ever gone to jail? Have you ever had a diamond ring or worn wedding veil. No, I've never been arrested. I've never gone to jail. I've never had a diamond ring or worn a wedding veil. Have you heard the news about Joe? No! Haven't you heard about Sue?
One song that never made the album, became a B-side, or got anywhere past a handful of rehearsals is "Watching Rainbows," which John Lennon wrote before realizing wheel-watching was far more interesting. It's a rollicking number that absolutely would've made moptop mavens everywhere bob their heads in appreciation. It's just the Beatles making music like they used to, music they could've easily played on stage except for the slight hindrance of breaking up shortly thereafter. The above video contains anyone's best guess as to what the lyrics are, though the line "Instead of watching rainbows, I'm gonna make me some" is both clear and awesome. Later he may be singing about shooting someone, which seems like the opposite of making a rainbow but John Lennon's mind did work in mysterious ways, so who knows?
Produced by Corey Hart, Jon Astley & Phil Chapman. Album Boy in the Box. Never Surrender Lyrics. Just a little more time is all we're asking for 'Cause just a little more time could open closing doors Just a little uncertainty can bring you down. And nobody wants to know you now And nobody wants to show you how. So if you're lost and on your own You can never surrender And if your path won't lead you home You can never surrender And when the night is cold and dark You can see, you can see light 'Cause no one can take away your right.
Have you heard from George recently? I've met a lot of people in the last few days. Everything is going well. We use the present perfect with today/this morning/this evening etc. when these periods are not finished at the time of speaking: I've drunk four cups of coffee today. perhaps I'll drink more before today is finished) Have you had a holiday this year (yet)? I haven't seen Tom this morning.
Every album had its own unique ‘sound’ - a vibe which made it feel like it came from the same musical home - often deploying the most cutting edge production techniques of the time. There you go - 10 solid Prince albums that you’ve likely never even heard of before, all of which are well worth the listen. And if you think I’ve been scrapping the barrel here to compile this rundown, let me tell you that I’ve omitted two ‘digital-only’ albums The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse, the live albums C-Note and Indigo Nights, the discarded configuration Camille, the 1989 version of Rave un2 The Joy Fantastic, the ballet Kamasutra, the jazz fusion album.
