The Anthology of American Folk Music is a six-album compilation released in 1952 by Folkways Records (catalogue FP 251, FP 252, and FP 253), comprising eighty-four American folk, blues and country music recordings that were originally issued from 1927 to 1932. Experimental film maker Harry Smith compiled the music from his personal collection of 78 rpm records. The album is famous due to its role as a touchstone for the American folk music revival in the 1950s and 1960s
Black Roots are a roots reggae band from the St. Paul's area of Bristol, England formed in 1979. They toured extensively in the UK and Europe in the 1980s and early 1990s releasing several albums and singles during that time before disappearing from the music scene for about ten years. Their comeback began when, a record label in France, released an album in 2004 and followed it up with another in 2007 (both were compilations made up from their extensive back catalogue)

Thirty years after they released their first four track EP Black Roots singles output is finally showcased on Black Roots - The Reggae Singles Anthology<. Released on September 5th, by Bristol Archive Records in collaboration with Nubian Records this 16 track album spans the bands creative peak of the 1980s.
Black Roots is a 1979 album by Sugar Minott. It was the first to appear on Minott's Black Roots label, and was described in the book Reggae: 100 Essential CDs – The Rough Guide as a "classic, which catches the singer on the cusp of the roots and dancehall phases, and with total control over his music.

He had been suffering from ill health, but his passing was unexpected. As one of the front men for the band he was well known for his strident no nonsense and unique vocal style, and his charismatic presence on stage.
