Times New Viking is an indie band which formed in Columbus, Ohio, United States in 2005. The band consists of Jared Phillips (guitar), Beth Murphy (keyboards, vocals) and Adam Elliott (drums, vocals). Currently signed to Wichita Records and were formerly signed to Matador Records and Siltbreeze Records. They have released five full-length records: 2005's Dig Yourself, 2007's Present the Paisley Reich, 2008's Rip It Off, 2009's Born Again Revisited and 2011's Dancer Equired! Top Tracks.

Times New Viking (the band name being an obscure and meaningless pun on the name of the popular typeface Times New Roman) formed in Columbus in 2004, when art school students Adam Elliott, Beth Murphy, and Jared Phillips spontaneously decided to form a band while hanging out in a local rock club. Murphy and Phillips, who had no musical training between them, took over keyboards and guitar respectively, while the marginally more skilled Elliott played drums. Elliott and Murphy both sing, often together though rarely in harmony.

If the group's thrashing pop flair and shouty boy-girl vocal tradeoffs initially feel a little, well, hooky to stand alongside such cap-peeling titans as Mssrs.
