From Tommy's 1990 CD "The Best Of Tommy Roe-Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow".

Two Americans, Tommy Roe and Chris Montez, were touring the . 4 a few days before Tommy went onstage to recreate the concert he did with The Beatles in February,1964.

May 9th, 1942, Tommy Roe (real name Thomas David Roe) was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He would write poems as a child. His father taught him 3 chords on the guitar, and after that, he would take his poems and put them to music. Until 1990, he released an album, which was called "The Best Of Tommy Roe: Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow. The album featured 3 original recordings, "Sweet Pea," "Sheila," "Dizzy," a few new songs ("fill-ins") "Who's That Lady," "Who I Used To Be," "Early In The Morning," "(Stop Complaining) Were Only Here For A While," and a few other songs.

In 1990 Huey co-produced The Best of Tommy Roe: Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow which was released on the Curb Mod Afw label. Michael Huey has worked as a producer and arranger for the following companies: MCA/Universal Records. Warner Brothers Records.

Curb's Best of Tommy Roe is an unsatisfying and schizophrenic collection that combines his classic bubblegum hits of the '60s with some non-hit material from the '70s. Unlike many Roe budget collections, "Sheila," "Sweet Pea," "Dizzy," and "Everybody" are the original hit versions. The rest of the tracks are easygoing country-rock tunes that are not especially noteworthy, certainly not hits and certainly not worthy of being side by side with his real hits. There are better places to get a hold of the hits, so give this disc a pass.

Best Of Tommy Roe, The: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow. The early Tommy Roe was a mellow rocker. Sheila, with its driving rhythm and Buddy Holly style vocal is a good example. everybody, his Top 5 hit in '63 is another light rocker. A song that wasn't a hit here was The Folk Singer, which sounds a bit folk-like and also is reminiscent of The Cascades Rhythm of the Rain. Years ago I purchased the album "Twelve In A Row" by Tommy Roe on vinyl and loved it. I have found that it was never converted to CD for sale. It contained interviews with Tommy Roe on each track and explained how each song came into existence.
