Live at the Harlem Square Club, 1963 is the second live album by the American singer-songwriter Sam Cooke. The album was released in June 1985 in the United States by RCA Records. Initially recorded on January 12, 1963 to be released as a live album entitled One Night Stand, the concert at Miami's Harlem Square Club was not released until 1985. RCA Victor, at the time, viewed the album as too gritty and raw and possibly damaging to his pop image, and quietly kept the recordings in their archive.

Charlie Smithers is such a delightful character that I fell in love with him instantly. Charlie is a manservant to the accident prone Lord Brampton and he goes well above the call of duty. While in Africa on Safari Charlie is almost killed protecting his lord from certain death by a black rhino. At that point he is separated from Lord Brampton and. rescued/kidnapped by some natives. As I started reading this story I was struck by how magnificent the character of Char The adventures of Charlie Smithers. His inner dialogue had me literally crying from laughter not to mention his live dialogue with others. Charlie is a product of his time, his views on things completely reflect that and it was very interesting seeing his views on things change. Lovatt was able to strap me in and take me on this adventure with Charlie and it is not one that I will soon forget.

Charlie Smithers, or should I say C W Lovatt? has done it again, bringing us the best adventure yet in the series about this remarkable and lovable character. Following a raid by pirates and a serious wound from the ever helpful, but sadly unskilled marksman, Lord Brampton, Smithers finds himself washed up and stranded in a place that he later knows to be Australia. Written in a friendly first person, the book grabs hold of its readers and lures them from page to page, tugging at the edges of the consciousness whilst one is not reading, urging one to go back. Lovatt’s skilled narrative and exceptional story telling ensure that no reader gets away without this book becoming a part of themselves. It is, to me, a mark of true genius, when a character becomes so important that the reader becomes slightly infatuated with them, and this is true of Charlie. I cared, and cared deeply, what happened to him.

Smithers and Burns first kiss? I WISH.
