Her fifth album – and her best seller – remains the antithesis of all you think you know about 80s pop. Having built her own studio in the barn behind the family home to facilitate her now slow, meticulous recording techniques, and using everything from samplers to traditional Irish instruments, she emerged with something unparalleled. It was also, fundamentally, a great heavy metal record, stacked with gonzoid anthems: Looks That Kill, Too Young To Fall In Love and the fists-in-the-air title track. The Crüe’s alien-hooker chic – skyscraper hair, crude make-up, S&M leather outfits – spawned a legion of copycats on the Sunset Strip.

Simply The Best 60's Albu. has been added to your Cart. This is a very good compilation of 60s singles by artists from each side of the Atlantic. All the songs are the originals by the artists for whom these songs were hits in the 1960s, with a good selection of US pop and soul and British Invasion pop. The sound is excellent and the sequencing is good. One little quibble: I understand completely that it's not possible to get recordings by everyone for compilations like this. However, the accompanying booklet listing events of the 1960s has, among the 47 items, no fewer than 22 which are about artists who aren't on the compilation
