The Essential Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show. The Essential Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show is a compilation album by American rock band Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, released in 2003 as a single disc, 14-track career-spanning anthology.
Sloppy Seconds is a diamond. The crusty album title and goofy cover photo obscure the searing vocals, rhapsodic harmonies and clever guitar riffs and licks. Twelve Shel songs are wonderfully interpreted and performed by Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. The songs range from vulgar but funny to heartbreaking ballads. Freakin' at the Freakers' Ball" is one of the most shocking and disgusting songs I've ever heard.
