An odd release from the acid-techno supergroup. Sure, I know all their releases tend toward the silly and typically sample rock classics. Still, "Runs Like Hell" sounds like an '80s synth-pop track cycled through a restrained acid-techno filter. It's not bad, and the acid lines are nice and gritty, but this is certainly not a usual SUF dance-floor burner."We're Getting the Band Back Together" is somewhat less of a novelty, and sounds like a lot of Geezer's plodding-acid catalog (see also, "When Push Comes to Shove," "Jak the Biscuit," or "Throw Bricks at Coppers"). And again, this is totally decent, but it just doesn't stand out like the Stella Artois EP, "Comfortably Dumb," or "Three Day Illegal Rave Party from Hell."Ultimately, I give this record 3/5---not bad, but not an SUF classic, either.
