Ozric Tentacles is an instrumental band from Somerset, England, whose music can loosely be described as psychedelic rock. Formed in 1984, the band has released well over twenty albums as of 2005, and has become a cottage industry selling around a million albums worldwide despite never having major label backing. The original line up met on the 21st June 1984 at the Stonehenge Free Festival; their name came from discussions of hypothetical cereal brands (Malcolm Segments, Desmond Whisps, and Gordon Lumps are among the names that were considered).

Also, though Tidal Convergence makes its first live appearance on DVD/video here and it’s fine (mega strange ending), I still wonder what Sploosh would sound like with Joie (you can see the title in the setlist stuck to Ed’s keyboard), as I’ve never witnessed that. Another thing is that the DVD is much shorter than the average Ozrics gig, due to the fact that it was a festival appearance and, because of time restrictions, The Throbbe only appears on the DVD.
