Maybes is the debut EP by UK electronic duo Mount Kimbie, released in January 2009 through Hotflush Recordings as 12" vinyl and digital download. It received praise from critics. Maybes was met with enthusiastic response. Resident Advisor wrote that "there's plenty of space for flights of imaginative fancy here," and reasoned "that the duo have managed something this accomplished for their debut indicates the probable arrival of a major talent

Maybes and Sketch on Glass aren't always sunny, but they're playful, dreamy, and melancholic- refreshing qualities to hear in dubstep, a genre slightly less emotionally versatile than hair metal. Even Burial- its most expressive, articulate producer- works in a kind of greyscale compared to Mount Kimbie (though, to be fair, Burial's music reaches a depth that Mount Kimbie's doesn't, and probably isn't aiming for)

Mount Kimbie is an English electronic music duo consisting of Dominic Maker and Kai Campos. They formed the group in London in 2008 and released their debut album Crooks & Lovers in 2010 to critical acclaim YouTube Encyclopedic. He has collaborated with them live and lent his skills to the remixing of "Maybes" which features on the Mount Kimbie EP Remixes Part 1, released 12 April 2010, as well as contributing elements to Crooks & Lovers Mount Kimbie have produced remixes for The Big Pink, Foals, The xx and Andreya Triana.
