Itoa is heavily influenced by the city's strong connection with Jamaican and soundsystem culture. Dancehall and jungle inform the foundation of his music but he also takes cues from footwork and juke. Reduction is the key part of the creative process that led to his signature sound; stripped back, percussive and weighty. Itoa gives every element in the track space to breath, with close attention given to keep the sub bass the main driving force  . Closing title track features a hypnotic Indian flute loop alongside, unsurprisingly, plenty of varying percussion and off-kilter rhythms.
