The 'Blue Smoke' song is about a heartbreak train called Blue Smoke. The majority of the songs are her own, but she said she's recorded versions of Bon Jovi's "Lay Your Hands on Me" and Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice It's All Right" to round out the collection. Her more extensive . tour run in May is still to be announced. While she's in Australia, she will also deeply be involved in rolling out her Dolly Parton Imagination Library program, funded by her Dollywood Foundation, that puts free books into the hands of preschool children. United Way has joined with the program to expand it world-wide, and "They're doing amazing things," she said.
Turn Blue is the eighth studio album by American rock duo the Black Keys. It was co-produced by Danger Mouse and the band, and was released on Nonesuch Records on May 12, 2014. The record was the group's fourth collaboration with Danger Mouse, following their previous studio album, El Camino (2011), which was their biggest commercial and critical success to that point
Blue Note’s very first press release stated. Blue Note Records are designed simply to serve the uncompromising expressions of hot jazz or swing, in general. Agreed, Saxophone Colossus is a great album, one of the all-time classics; however it was not made for Blue Note, but for Prestige, if I remember correctly. 4. Pete La Roca – Basra 5. Andrew Hill – Point Of Departure 6. Johnny Coles – Little Johnny C 7. Kenny Burrell – Midnight Blue 8. Bobby Hutcherson – Dialogue 9. Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers – Indestructible 10. Cannonball Adderley – Somethin’ Else 11. Ike Quebec – Bossa Nova Soul Samba 12.
John Coltrane – Blue Train (1958). For being such a scion of jazz, it seems a little weird that this is ‘Trane’s only Blue Note album guided by his own hand from start to finish. Yet in honoring a verbal agreement with label founder Alfred Lion he ended up doing the right thing for Blue Note’s reputation, for his own legacy, and for jazz history. Somethin’ else, indeed: Despite the alto sax man’s name at the top of the marquee this is a Miles Davis album by proxy, which is kind of a miracle since not only is this is one of the last albums to list Davis as a sideman, but it’s part of a surprising short history he had with Blue Note. Adderley was a sidekick on either side of this release-part of Miles’ sextet formed in 1957, and heard on his stone classic Columbia album Kind of Blue in 1959-and it sometimes even feels as such on this album, where Davis’ solos and duets are prominent and early.
The Blue Album brought together 28 Beatles hits, from their 1967 single Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever to Let It B. Like its red counterpart, The Beatles 1962-1966, the Blue Album was brought to production swiftly as a response to an illegal two-volume, 120-song bootleg titled Alpha Omega which had been issued earlier in 1973. Alpha Omega had contained songs from The Beatles' back catalogue, along with several songs from their solo careers.
