Trap Them were an American grindcore band based in Boston, Massachusetts and Seattle, Washington. Trap Them's influences include hardcore punk bands, such as Black Flag, Born Against, and Tragedy; metal bands like Dismember and Entombed (whose "buzzsaw" guitar tone create the main guitar sound for Trap Them), and experimental bands like Swans. Ryan McKenney's lyrics tend to deal with issues both personal and political, while recent material has also contained a conceptual element to its lyricism

Trap Them hail very clearly from the hardcore punk side of the heavy music fence, but have incorporated more and more metal leanings as they have progressed. Their newest album, "Darker Handcraft", swims in straightforward, simple waters. Play heavy crust/grind. Their style is somewhat similar to fellow Seattle band Sanctum, but the songwriting on this album dwarfs that band. Every song has a hook, a catch, and a build-up to a tremendous explosion.
