The instrumental "Now I've Got a Witness" was one of those, and is perhaps the least remarkable track on their self-titled debut album, not to mention one of the least remarkable tracks the Brian Jones lineup ever cut. Basically, it's a standard three-chord blues, the pace set in the early going by unofficial sixth Stone Ian Stewart's organ, joined by harmonica. Stewart does vamp a bit after the first verse to vary the riffs a little, and then Keith Richards comes in with a fiery if predictable solo that's characteristic of his early jagged guitar work

Now I'm four, five seconds from wildin' And we got three more days 'til Friday I'm just tryna make it back home by Monday mornin' I swear I wish somebody would tell me Ooh, that's all I want. Woke up an optimist Sun was shinin', I'm positive We can run Then I heard you was talkin' trash I'm on a mystery Hold me back, I'm 'bout to spaz

Kabandis Kabandis
Lyres release on the Rolling Stones Singles series on NY label Norton Records. Both tracks were recorded around 1991 and then released on Lyres third album 'Happy Now'; despite this, b side is credited to The New Conolly 5 (a joke moniker used for this release in this series intended to be 'split' singles). Issued in stock company cover.
