Complete your The Decemberists collection. A great album but a sub-par vinyl pressing. Loads of surface noise interrupting the music whenever it gets quiet. It may benefit from rigorous cleaning on my RCM- if it improves I'll report back- I think knowing whether a pressing is cleanable or not is important info for collectors to know.

I might as well say it here Gillian Welch makes the album what it is. This is Emmylou territory, or Ian & Sylvia, or Neil and Nicolette. There's four strong winds imbuing these songs. The melodies are timeless, if not original.

It is easy to listen to and absolutely gorgeous. No crazy story-telling songs like on the previous albums (don't get me wrong I love them, but some enjoy this album because it doesn't have any obviously fictional lyrics/tales).
