Following the deserved attention of their great album Tiny Reminders, Two Lone Swordsman followed last year with the obligatory remix. Four tracks in particular stand out from the rest of Further Reminders because they take a small dollop of the original album and place it in a traditional instrumental setting, essentially creating a new song with faint echoes of Two Lone Swordsman intact. Two separate versions of "Tiny Reminder No. 1" by C-Pij (isn't this a label and not a band?) start and end the record.
Techno mavericks Two Lone Swordsmen spun the tried-and-true blueprint of remix albums for a loop with their update to 2000's Tiny Reminders LP. Instead of just hiring a few similar/related producers for the reinterpretations, Andrew Weatherall and Keith Tenniswood drafted some seriously obscure names - C-Pij, Dry & Heavy, Klart, Lali Puna - to work on their tracks.

Further Reminders’ is also a stand-alone record instead of just a big money re-spray. With their own remix of ‘Rotting Hill’, Two Lone Swordsmen keep at least one hard-faced tune in the line-up. But otherwise it’s a succession of misty electronic sounds that alter you physically. The low frequency Villalobos remix of ‘Bunker’ will knot your stomach, while the Lali Puna lo-fi take on ‘It’s Not The Worst’ will empty your mind of stress. And then there’s the unexpected Calexico remix of ‘Tiny Reminder No 3’, which is a film soundtrack in the style of a self-hypnosis tape
Two Lone Swordsmen: Are an English electronic music duo, consisting of producers Andrew Weatherall and Keith Tenniswood. Formed in early 1996, following the dissolution of Weatherall's influential Sabres of Paradise, the Swordsmen released material on the label Emissions Audio Output, run by Weatherall. However, the small nature of the operation limited the duo's success and they subsequently signed to Warp Records, making them labelmates with acts such as Autechre and Boards of Canada, as well as setting up the Rotters Golf Club label for their more dancefloor-friendly output under.
