King Kong is a giant movie monster, resembling an enormous ape, that has appeared in various media since 1933. Kong has been dubbed the Eighth Wonder of the World, a phrase commonly used within the films. The character first appeared in the 1933 film King Kong from RKO Pictures, which received universal acclaim upon its initial release and re-releases. A sequel quickly followed that same year with The Son of Kong, featuring Little Kong.

The King Kong Show (Japanese: キングコング・001/7親指トム) is an American/Japanese anime-influenced series produced by Videocraft International and Toei Animation. It is the first anime series produced in Japan for an American company (not counting Rankin/Bass' previous Animagic stop motion productions, also animated in Japan). ABC ran the series in the United States between September 10, 1966, and August 31, 1969.

The original King Kong from 1933 and this new 2005 remake with Lord of the Rings' Peter Jackson in the director's chair aren't too different from each other.

A Universal Pictures remake of the original by New Zealand director Peter Jackson, best known for directing the The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The most recent incarnation of Kong is also the longest, running three hours and seven minutes. In this cartoon series, the famous giant ape befriends the Bond family, with whom he goes on various adventures, fighting monsters, robots, mad scientists and other threats. Produced by Rankin/Bass, the animation was provided in Japan by Toei Animation, making this the very first anime series to be commissioned right out of Japan by an American company. King Kong makes a special appearance as a playable character in Konami Wai Wai World (also known as Konami World).

It's difficult to criticize this CD release, of the original music tracks from Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack's King Kong, from 1933, although it is slightly confusing on first glance. Tracks 12-20, running 24 minutes, are, indeed, Max Steiner's unmixed pre-mastering music tracks, preserved from a group of complimentary 78 . records issued to close friends of the producers in 1933, and they are glorious-you can experience the score that changed the way filmmakers and studios thought of film music, as it was conducted at.
