Description

Artist : Psychopod ( Christian Johansson, Frank Madsen ) Album : Psychopod ‎– Headlines EP Label : TIP Records ‎– TIP 026 Format : 2 Vinyl, 12", EP, 4. .

Label: TIP. Date: 1997. That's a very nice ep from the very good psychopod (kox box). Re Vision and. Stop the carnage are the most wicked tracks. Headlines is a good album, yeah, with a pretty unique sound. A couple of the tracks do venture into what I call 'the land of tired, senseless noise' but it's still worth picking up. Most the tracks are very good.

Legendary psytrance group which released a number of high-octane trance tracks on the seminal . Psychopod - Headlines EP - 1997 Goa Trance I don't own the rights to this song.

Track 5 is in reality an edit of the track Psychopod and not of Dreampod.

Incarnate entities of electron-ic vibrations causing the pod to hatch!...Spiralling modules, molecules and pod-ules pulsing at a billion hertz a second and unravelling the double helix.
Electronic sound holograms, twisting tapestries of symphonic circuitry, complex, intricate and delicious.
Witness the creation of aural multi-verses. A sonic syntallation of synthesised psychosis.

Dangerous to the apathetic mind, rumours of death by astonishment have been reported.

Together with the self titled album by Orichalcum & The Deviant, this is the most mental and tweaked out release ever from TIP Records. But the Headlines EP is even on top. It’s impossible to describe each track. Consider 6 tracks with multiple layers of extremely fast melodies and tweaked out to a point that no-one ever dared to arrive – add the most mind-twisting psychedelic FX’s you can throw in and cook them well done – and there you have the Headlines EP. Each track is so mental and mind-boggling that words can’t describe, it’s only by listening that you can understand.Even though this was marketed as an EP, this CD is 50 minutes long, and if it hadn’t the words EP attached to the name this would have been considered as a full length album, which I do treat as such. Only thing which I can’t understand is why the track “Dreampod” has been edited to 4 minutes instead of inserting the original 10 minute version. Perhaps because it had already appeared in full length on the same titled CD single? And who cares what counts is that this album is a masterpiece!! Get it now if you don’t have.

Those looking for psychedelic trance music packed with details, ideas, and highly intelligent need look no further. Psychopod's 55 mins long Headlines cd sounds close to Koxbox, but twisted a notch or three extra to make this some of the most wicked, obscene nineties psystrance, I know off. The music here at times is infinitely far out, practically "full-on psychedelic" if there ever was such thing, but always carried out with so much intelligence you never need worry that the chain falls off. Psychopod knows exactly what parameters they're twitching. Actually, once you truly realise that, this cd will come back and haunt you even more vigirously. When that happens I will need to regrade this to a 5/5 or possibly a 6/5 stars. For now, however, I need to grade this 4/5 simply because, whilst I love to trip with Headlines in small doses, I am still not fully able to enjoy dancing to it. Too much is going on for me to just enjoy the dancing codes. And at the same time, I can't sit still for too long with this cd. Then I'm freaked out! But in small doses and at the right time every track here is a stand out psychedelia experience and the cd as a whole a true gem in any well equipped psytrance collection.
