Sure, there are artists that can churn out 18 minute tracks and keep things changing up (most notibly is the 40-minute version of Blue Room by the Orb), but when one is discussing minimal electronic music, more often than not it’s going to involve some serious repetition

Entain is the second album by Finnish producer Sasu Ripatti under the name Vladislav Delay. It was released in 2000 on Mille Plateaux. The album contains six tracks. Two ("Kohde," "Ele") are different versions of tracks that appeared on Ripatti's first Vladislav Delay album Ele. Two ("Poiko," "Notke") are originals, and two are untitled interludes under two minutes long.

But once you're prepared to tackle its tough terrain, it's immensely rewarding. Four of the album's six tracks are between 15 and 22 minutes; the other two are short, untitled interludes that still don't seem like much of a reprieve. The album has no artwork, effectively eliminating any chance of a prejudiced listener judging it "by its cover. At least Delay's masterpiece, the equally long Luomo record Vocalcity, had some blue on the cover to let you know it would be a nice, calm album. Entain's pure white makes it look more like an unreadable document. If you don't have much time on your hands, Entain can indeed be an unruly beast.
