When the Milltown Brothers played, I seem to remember they played Which Wa y Should I Jump and Here I Stand twice. I am not sure why. I don’t think that they lacked enough songs for a gig. These are the stand out songs of the album. There is a nice Hammond organ in Apple Green too. They sounded like Brit Pop way before their time. Yet there are jangly baggy elements to the album. All this and reminding me of The La’s. Their lack of recognition may be due to spreading themselves around genres.

Present were thousands of mourners and top members of the IRA and Sinn Féin, including Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness. Two RUC helicopters hovered overhead. Stone claimed that he entered the graveyard through the front gate with the mourners and mingled with the large crowd, although one witness claimed to have seen him enter from the.

From Colne in Lancashire, the Milltown Brothers first burst onto the indie scene in 1989 with the 'Coming From The Mill EP' getting single of the week in NME and featuring the songs Roses, We've Got Time and Something On My Mind. Second indie single 'Which Way Should I Jump' started a bidding war between the majors with the exceptional 'Silvertown' added as the bside.
