Point 3 is the collective title of the third and fourth studio albums by British ambient dance band System 7. The first of the two is Point 3 – Fire Album; the second, Point 3 – Water Album. The two offer different mixes of the same material, Fire using more drums and rhythms, while Water is more ambient. Three tracks are unique: "Radiate" and "Overview" appear only on Fire; "Liquid Sky", only on Water. The albums were released in the United States as a 2-CD set as System . : Fire + Water by 777.

System 7’s third album – Point 3 – was released in two separate forms:- the Fire Album and the Water album. The Water album had mostly the same titles mixed almost entirely without drums. Originally released in October 1994 777 the Fire Album was recorded at producer Youth’s legendary Butterfly Studios in London, and features collaborations with Laurent Garnier, Youth, DJ Lewis Keogh, Derrick May and The Drum Club.

The first System 7 album was released on Virgin's 10 Records dance music label, followed by the vinyl-only Derrick May collaboration Altitude (featuring Ultra Naté). In 1992 System 7 moved to Youth's Butterfly label, releasing 4 albums, until 1999 when they founded their own label A-Wave for all future releases, also re-releasing their Butterfly catalogue. version of the System 7 album. The Water album is largely the same tracks as the Fire album but with completely different mixes mostly without drums. At times relaxing at times overwhelming this has been seen by many as the follow-on to our original chill-out album "Rainbow Dome Music" from 1979 - although in many respects this is like a trance album without drums rather than a typical ambient album. Point 3 Water album was re-released in 2003 on System 7’s own A-Wave label.
