Less political cassette releases would disguise political songs as love songs (double meaning/entendre). Typically, all musicians would change their name upon making music, and some bands would even use fake names on their album covers. Usually the more political songs were either on radio (typically broadcasted in northern Thailand, where some Shan communities lived) or cassettes only sold "in the jungle". Psych and garage rock music was also playing in the general region surrounding this area (sometimes known as "Zomia" or the "Golden Triangle") by the Thai, Khmer, Hmong, Lahu, Karen, and many others. The only cassette tapes I currently own of this genre are by the Shan (Tai-Yai) and the Pa-Oh, so this list only includes them for the time being.
