Another great song taken from album 'Modern Times' ('81); written by Paul Kantner; the band for this album: Paul Kantner (vocals, rhythm guitar), Craig.
It was the first studio album produced after Grace Slick rejoined the band as a full member. Aynsley Dunbar plays drums on the album, but was replaced by Donny Baldwin for the supporting tour. The album reached number 26 on the Billboard charts. The LP produced two . Top 40 singles: "Be My Lady" in the fall of 1982, and "Winds of Change" in the winter of 1983. Craig Chaquico – lead guitar, rhythm guitar.
Modern Times was used as an album title by a variety of artists from jazz to folk to country, but despite its moments, this Modern Times, its predecessor Freedom at Point Zero, and its successors, Winds of Change and Nuclear Furniture, became the antithesis of the works of art which are Dragon Fly, Red Octopus, Earth, and Spitfire.
Grace Slick appeared on this album after a three-year absence. She returned near the end of the recording sessions, providing background vocals on some tracks as well as lead vocals on "Alien" and lead vocals on the single "Stranger" as a duet with lead singer Mickey Thomas

Title song, "Modern Times", is another Kantner influenced, rollicking song with whole dang band joining in on this fun number. I suppose if there's a dog on Modern Times it would be "Mary" a mediocre take off of their hit song from the last album "Jane". Guitarist, Chaquico delivers another standout performance on the next track "Free", a semi-fast song with screaming guitars backing Thomas's vocals. Alien" is another interesting song with heavy drum beat and similarities to "Stranger".
It was also the first album to feature a charting single on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. to/ModernTimesYI!ytstranger. Has been played on. United States 12. The Legacy Album Rock
