Back to the Night is the second studio album by the British singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading. The album was released in April 1975 by A&M Records (AMLH 68305). Musically, the album shows a development of the mood of Armatrading's first album Whatever's for Us, and explores different aspects of her talent and musical leanings, as it encompasses elements of folk, jazz, calypso and up-tempo songs.

Mixed at Basing Street Studios, London. Mastered at Sterling Sound . Special thanks to: Elkie Brooks, Lynn Taylor, Rod Thear and Mike Stone. Made in Holland Includes lyric inner sleeve.

Joan Armatrading is the third studio album from the British singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading and her second for A&M Records. It was her first album to be recorded entirely in London, as her first two albums - Whatever's for Us and Back to the Night being partially recorded in France and Wales respectively in addition to London. Released in 1976, it included Armatrading's sole Top 10 hit single, "Love and Affection".

It was an unusually long time before A&M released a second album from Joan Armatrading, Back to the Night. Produced by Vinegar Joe guitarist Pete Gage (and featuring that band's Steve York on bass), the record is something of a transitional work between the singer/songwriter folk of her first album and the warmer melodies of her breakthrough eponymous effort. While it's not a markedly better record than Whatever's for Us, there are some appreciable differences.

This song is by Joan Armatrading and appears on the album Back To The Night (1975) and on the compilation album Greatest Hits (1996). Leaves burnt by the sun And there's no wind blowing See the motor cars With a smiling face at the wheel I'm watching the little girls With their young men at their heels It's a sunny day But get me back to the night 'Cause I love that life Back to the night Like a skinny burlesque queen I love a neon Skyline.

Joan Armatrading (album). List of Kanon episodes. I'm gonna step out of emotion Break events that bring me down I'm so uncertain But it's my fault For letting you distract me There's trouble now I'm on the edge Steppin' Out Steppin' Out Step out of emotion Steppin' out of love I don't want no contradiction Your navigation's gone haywire Your little arrow Oh.
