Yep, Muff Huffers is informed by a wonderful pedigree of punk and trad. Sometimes it actually seems like they are about to break-down into a bit of power violence but they never do, the solo’ing guitar and jammy feel to the songs keep them from shifting genres. The artwork to the EP is black and white (still winning!) and very endearing. Certainly if I went to an EP launch with a few other bands of this ilk and walked away with The Slightly Cleaner Demo I’d be a rather pleased punter.

On the original 1996 Skunk Records print, the CD included two hidden tracks after "To a Party. The first hidden song is "Prophet" with the late Bradley Nowell of Sublime playing bass. The second hidden song is "Marley Medley" which contains "Guava Jelly" and "This Train," both Bob Marley covers. The printing was very limited at an estimated 1000 copies.

And the album was good; messy, lo-fi, but so him. The stab of neo-funk guitars, the barely there falsettos, the lovelorn aggression - it was everything I wanted Jai Paul to be. When I found out it wasn't the album he'd intended, I stopped listening to it. He was such a powerful figure in my mind, in my diaspora, representing everything I needed - bass, funk, Indian percussion - from music, that I couldn't listen to the album unless he intended me to. Leaks are a funny thing.
