My honey, I know with the dawn That you will be gone But tonight you belong to me. Way down, way down along the stream How very, very sweet it will seem Once more just to dream in the silvery moonlight. My honey, I know with the dawn That you will be gone But tonight you belong to me Just to little old me. More on Genius. is a popular American song, written in 1926 by lyricist Billy Rose and composer Lee David. The first ever recording was made by Irving Kaufman in 1926 on Banner Records.
