Let’s get one thing straight here, this album is about Eddie Van Halen and his guitar playing, should we be surprised? No I don’t think so and after spending various stints in rehab battling alcohol, he finally looks like he’s in the right state of mind to put on a show and that quality shows here on the new album. His guitar playing while at times a little over the top, is pure bliss to any guitar freak out there, and I’m one of those. So, an album that is indeed all killer and no filler (even the cover of ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ as album closer is great fun). Pounding beats, great guitar riffs and solos, solid vocals with great range from Elliot supported by the band with chant along harmonies on the choruses.
