The name Steal This Album was a nod to beating the establishment, and was derived from Abbie Hoffman’s counterculture textbook, Steal This Book. Apart from alluding to the fans who downloaded unreleased demo songs leaked online a year prior to the album’s release, the title also refers to recurring motifs throughout the album’s tracks related to Fuck the System. However, the band has said that they don’t actually mind people downloading their music online, as long as it doesn’t happen before the official release. Steal This Album! Q&A.

CD - Revelation Records 098CD). Hot on the heels of their impressive Flash Flash Flash LP, the Explosion followed up with the Steal This EP, more the result of contractual obligations than a new record from the band. Coming out of an argument between bassist Damian Genaurdi and his former record label, the group was forced to record the condescendingly titled EP or face legal action. Regardless of what prompted the record, the five-track, nine-minute performance is still classic Explosion, and its only downside is the fact that it's almost over before it even begins.
