The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1 is an album by the band Earth, Wind & Fire issued in 1978 by Columbia Records. The album rose to Nos. 3 & 6 on the Billboard Top Soul Albums and Billboard 200 charts respectively. The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1 has been certified Quintuple Platinum in the US by the RIAA. The album has also been certified Platinum in the UK by the BPI and in Canada by Music Canada respectively. The album produced two new songs and two singles.

The album is full of vivid, passionate, literate punk tunes, but its vim and vigor are made all the more refreshing by a sweet and honest appeal to his parents called Faithful Son and a tender love song called The Fastest Way Back Home. 58. 16 Horsepower – Folklore (2002) Few albums truly exhibit the inscrutable mystery and inescapable desperation of the world as Folklore. Somehow, David Eugene Edwards and his band explored the edges of those vanished territories of the American folk-music tradition, channeling the fear of now lost pastorals.

The Best of Volume 1 gives the short shrift to Black Celebration, the 1986 album that gave the gift of a name to goth club nights around the world. It turned out no real hits but it affirmed that Depeche Mode's sonic goal was total domination- albeit domination that swayed with an anorexic's gait- mixed with ballads that became mixtape staples. Never Let Me Down Again" plugs in the guitar, but it plugs it into the MIDI banks. Kinda rock, still mostly not. And then came Violator, the one Depeche Mode record that nearly everyone can agree on.

Devon Folklore Tapes Vol. by Ian Humberstone, David Chatton Barker. Exploring mysteries, myths, nature, topography and strange phenomena of the counties.

When it was originally released in 1978, The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1 was a succinct, ten-track collection of the group's best and biggest singles up to that point. The excellent "September," a brand-new song, soon became a hit in its own right, and the non-LP Beatles cover "Got to Get You into My Life," recorded for the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band film, also makes its first appearance on an EWF album here, as does the track "Love Music.
