Description

Tintinnabuli Mathematica is an experiment in programming Arvo Pärt's tintinnabuli method of composition. Then harmonic tintinnabuli parts (T-voices) are generated by applying transformation rules to the melody.

Tintinnabuli Mathematica is a generative music project. Melodic parts (M-voices) are created using algorithms based on stochastic methods and integer sequences

Stream Tintinnabuli Mathematica 1 by :¬l from desktop or your mobile device. First in a series of experiments with tintinnabuli composition in Mathematica programs. This track contains one M-voice of 128 randomly-determined notes, and two T-voices with randomized note duration. The result is that the notes are still related but the timing is 'off' between the voices, partly due to randomization but also because the voices are staggered relative to each other.

Notes

Tintinnabuli Mathematica is a generative music project. Melodic parts (M-voices) are created using algorithms based on stochastic methods and integer sequences, written in the Mathematica programming language. Harmonic parts (T-voices) are created using programs that transform the melodic parts, based on the algorithmic 'tintinnabuli' method of composition developed by Arvo Pärt.
